Right now, I will be guiding you through the step-by-step process of adding a GDPR privacy policy template to your website. We will use a dynamic plugin named ‘Legal Pages Pro’ to do it smartly. Let’s dive.

Step 1: Upload and activate ‘Legal Pages Pro’

Before going deeper, make sure you have WordPress installed as the dedicated Content Management System (CMS). To upload ‘Legal Pages Pro’ on your site, first land on your WordPress Dashboard Admin Menu Bar and click on Plugins➤Add New. This will take you to the Add Plugins page.

Once you have landed on the Add Plugins page, click on Upload Plugin to upload ‘Legal Pages Pro’ to your site

Once you have clicked on the ‘Upload Plugin’ option, it’s time to Install ‘Legal Pages Pro’ on your website. You need to click on Choose File to upload ‘Legal Pages Pro’. One thing to note is that you can only upload a plugin in .zip format. After selecting the file, click on Install Now to install the plugin.

Now, you have successfully Installed ‘Legal Pages Pro’ on your WordPress website. Next, you need to Activate this dynamic plugin. To do this, click on Activate Plugin to make this plugin come into action.

Step 2: Explore the ‘Settings’ panel

Before knowing how to add a GDPR privacy policy template with ‘Legal Pages Pro’, it’s necessary to work with the ‘ Settings’ option. That’s why you will be able to add a GDPR compliant privacy policy more smoothly. 

First, click on Settings under ‘Legal Pages’ in the Admin Menu Bar, and a  Disclaimer notice about the plugin will appear first. ‘check’ the Box below the notice and click on Accept.

Now, you will be redirected to the Settings page. It consists of General Information, Popup Settings, and Miscellaneous Settings.

The ‘General Information’ consists of two parts: 1. General Information and Social Information. In General Information, you should provide basic information about your website/Business Name, Site URL, and different kinds of Contact Information. In Social Information, submit the URL links of different social media you use for your Site/Business.

Next, you will work with the Popup settings. It includes different functionalities that help you display popups more smartly on the website. After providing all the required information, click on the Save button to save all your changes. You can also reset information by clicking on Reset Fields and saving the newly given data by clicking on Reset Saved Data.

Lastly, you need to deal with the Miscellaneous Settings. It consists of two buttons. If you click on “Yes” for the first button, the ‘Legal Pages’ plugin will be excluded from the search result. Be alert while clicking on the second button because if you click ‘Yes’, the process will remove all the plugin’s data to uninstall. Click on Save to record all the changes.

Step 3: Add the‘ GDPR Privacy Policy”in a page  using a templates

Adding a GDPR compliant privacy policy is like a piece of cake if you use ‘Legal Pages Pro’. It’s because the plugin offers ready-made templates to set up different types of Legal Pages on your site.

Now, we will add the GDPR privacy Policy page using a template. To do that, click on Legal Pages➤Add New Legal pages. This action will take to the ‘Add New Legal page’. Now, go to Show Template Type and select the type of your site so that a list of relevant templates based on your site will appear.

Next, click on GDPR Privacy Policy from Choose a Template, and the title and Paragraph part will be filled automatically by GDPR privacy policy page data. How cool! Now, click on the Save button to store all the changes.

Step 4: Display the GDPR privacy policy page on your website

To find out the newly created GDPR privacy policy page, hover over Admin Menu Bar and click on Legal pages➤All Legal Pages. It will take you to the ‘All Legal Pages’ page. You can also Add New Legal Page from here. Our newly created legal page for GDPR privacy policy has been stored here. Moreover, you can copy the Shortcode and use it on any post or page. If any change is necessary, you can view, edit or move that particular page under Action.
