To show the process seamlessly, in this guide, we will use a plugin called ‘eCommerce Product Catalogue Plugin for WordPress.’ Before that, we assumed you used WordPress as the dedicated Content Management System (CMS).

Let’s explore the overall process through a stepwise procedure.

Step 1: Install and activate the plugin 

To add products to WordPress, install the plugin on your website. Go to your Dashboard Admin Menu Bar and click Plugins ➤ Add New. This action will take you to the WordPress plugin repository. Now, search ‘eCommerce Product Catalogue Plugin for WordPress’ and Click on Install Now. 

Once you have installed the plugin, click on Activate to make it in action. 

Step 2: Add product to WordPress

Next, it’s time to add products to your WordPress website. To do this, click on Products ➤ Add New Product from your Admin Dashboard. 

Step 3: Take a tour from the ‘Add New Product’ page 

So, you have landed on the Add New Product page. You can add an unlimited number of products to your eCommerce store along with their details from here. Let’s take a tour of this page to learn its details.

First, add the name of your product in the Enter product name here box. Here, we’ve entered our new product name ‘Tshirt’. Now, in the Product Short Description part, there is a short description of this product. Using the Custom Fields option, you’ll get a list of custom fields, and you can add any of them, providing the value. 

Scrolling down, you will find the Product description, where you can add a detailed description of the particular product you want to include. We’ve already added a description of the product in this part. 

Generally, Product Attributes is a feature to which you can add extra data to your products, like specific values and units. In this part, we’ve specified the color and size of our product, ‘Tshirt’. 

On the top right corner of the page, you will find the Product Details option, where you can provide the product details that you want to add based on weight, size, price, SKU number, MPN, and more. We’ve also added all the data about our product in this part.

Besides, we’ve included an image of our product in the Product Image. You can edit or update the image by clicking on it if necessary. Moreover, you can also categorize the new product into any existing product categories or create a new category for that product in Product Categories. Besides, we’ve fixed the shipping rate of our product in Product Shipping.

Finally, click Publish after adding all the required and relevant information about the new product. You can make further changes if needed by clicking on the Update button. 

Step 4: Explore the newly added product on the product page

We’ve successfully added a new product to the Products page without using WooCommerce. You can see the product ‘Tshirt’ in the products list. Besides, there are options to Customize the product if any change is necessary. To display the product on any page or post on your website, you can copy the Shortcode adjacent to the product ‘Tshirt’ and paste it on any page or post.
